It has taken a while to put this post up but you can imagine why. I spent some time reading my delivery story on MoMo before starting this post and it brought back so many emotions. You can read those posts here, here, here, and here. Phew!
Besides being able to share my world with my readers, I think writing is pretty amazing for my own pleasure. The fact that I'm able to go back and read my own experiences is pretty awesome. I think everyone should write about certain life events. I had several diaries prior to beginning my blog and it's always interesting to go back and read through them. Trying to remember certain events is not the same as reading about the type of emotions it evoked at the particular time. With that said, this post is not about blogging or diaries... Lol. Lets get to it.
My delivery story for Demilade is very much similar to that of Morayo's in some ways. Leading up to my due date, which was August 9th, I began having conversations with my mom. She wanted to be present for the delivery. It was going to be hard to determine when she could come be with us because of her work schedule. Considering MoMo was a vaginal delivery, there was no telling when our boy would show up. We began to look at the option of inducing and decided on the first weekend in August. Unfortunately, my mom called me and said she wasn't going to be able to make that date. I was pretty disappointed because I had my mind already set on having our baby that weekend. She told me to just wait until the baby was ready and I thought to myself hmmm... I didn't want another MoMo situation. MoMo came at 41 weeks!
If I was going to be induced, we picked the 4th of August. My doctor was on call that day and he would possibly be the one delivering the baby, which was absolutely what I wanted. However, on the 4th, I would only be 38 weeks and 6 days. If our baby decided to pull a MoMo, I would have to wait TWO MORE WEEKS?! Look... Pregnancy is fun, great, and exciting but when you're ready to be over with it, you just are. I was ready! I spoke to hubby about how I was feeling, and I also let my mom know what I decided. When I went in for my weekly check up that week, I told my doctor to make arrangements as planned. He went ahead and scheduled for us to check in at 6:00a.m on August 4th, which was a Sunday morning. The anticipation was building up foreal now!
