My brother Emmanuel turns 25 next month (OMG!) Whoop whoop! Early shout out to him! He started a countdown on his Facebook page about 25 things he has learned in life thus far. While scrolling through my news feed yesterday, I saw the latest one he had up, which was...
" #21. You're going to lose friends. It just is. With some people, IT WILL be expected but with others it will hurt...sometimes really bad. We are undergoing so many personal and professional changes at this point in life that there's bound to be some casualties along the way. No hard feelings.
On the bright side, you will ALWAYS end up with the people that matter."

After reading that, I scrolled down further and a friend of mine shared this article on their page..
I just thought it was interesting how the article kinda related to my brother's status. I share the same sentiments. As I've grown older, especially now being a wife, mother, and having a career. I really have no room for meaningless relationships in my life. Even if I had the room, I don't have the TIME! And no... I don't say this because I have a family now. For those who really know me, they now that Lauret is still the same ol' Lauret. I am not one of those people that becomes a different person because of a change in my life. Yes, I have changed as far as maturing but my character is the same. Prior to even getting married, I already had this epiphany. I was done with people and things that added no meaning to my life. Have you ever been there, when you ask yourself "why do I even bother?" If you make amends, trust me it makes for a better and easier living. I really like this quote from the article...
"I no longer have the energy for meaningless friendships, forced interactions or unnecessary conversations. If we don’t vibrate on the same frequency there’s just no reason for us to waste our time. I’d rather have no one and wait for substance than to not feel someone and fake the funk.” – Joquesse Eugenia
