Halloween is next month, and being that I'm a mama now, I'm really excited because Morayo gets to wear a costume. She's clearly too little to trick or treat but having her dress up and take pictures will make my day. It's her first Halloween, so I want it to be special.
Speaking of Halloween, I was talking to a friend of mine recently who has a son two months older than Morayo. I asked her what she was planning to do for her son for Halloween and she said she had no plans at all. She doesn't celebrate Halloween, and she wants to raise her son not to as well. Her husband shares the same views. Personally, I don't see a problem with celebrating Halloween. Growing up in my parents home, we always buy candy every year for the kids in the neighborhood and I used to go trick or treating. I think the last time I went was probably the year after I graduated from college. It was a last minute decision that night. I didn't have on a costume, I just wanted to walk around and get candy. I believe my older sis Juliet came along. Yup... we shamelessly went from door to door ringing the bell and yelling trick or treat. We had a blast too. I remember all the confused faces, but as confused as they were, they produced that candy boi! Lol!
I respect my friend's views even though I'm not sure about her reason behind it. Knowing her though (and trust me I've known her for some good years), I bet her reason is something spiritual. I'm a Christian and I don't think celebrating Halloween changes that. I know what I believe, I stand firmly in it, and dressing up and collecting candy will not change it neither will it change my child and the Godly values we will do our best to teach her. Plus hubby is okay with it. For as long as I've known him, he has always gone to some Halloween party... all dressed up too! Lol. So! Baby MoMo will be partaking in the festivities come next month!
I was looking online recently for infant Halloween costumes for girls. I wasn't too pleased because I didn't see what I was looking for. I really didn't see much period. Here's some of what I found...

These are all really cute but I already have three costumes in mind. I'm looking for either a sunflower, bumble bee, or lady bug costume. I really, really want the lady bug though. Hopefully I find something cute soon.
The search is on!
