eDiary of Mrs. O

Say YES!

I had a very early start on Saturday. My daughter woke up pretty early, which she usually does but this time around, she showed no signs of wanting to go back to sleep. I sang happy birthday to her for her second month birthday (Hehe…) and her daddy joined in. Mind you, he was sleeping but he always seems to just wake up out of his sleep and join in on conversations like a true talkative. I got out of bed afterwards, we had a long day ahead!

My friend Phoebe got engaged recently. Yay! We were roommates in college and we had a blast while in school. We roomed with my sister Juliet and let us just say Phoebe and I were the apartment hoodrats. Lol. We thought we were rap stars and I remember us going through the apartment raping whatever songs were in rotation. Our all time fave back then, was “knuck if you buck”. Till this day, when I hear that song, I belt out my part proudly. Lol! Phoebe called me and asked if I would be a bridesmaid in her wedding and I said YES! She also asked if I would come with her to go dress shopping! I was more than excited and said YES! We spent the day Saturday visiting a couple bridal stores and she eventually said YES to her dress at our final stop. Phoebe looked absolutely stunning in her dress and I can’t wait to share pictures. I’m thankful to her for letting me share such a special moment with her. I also tried on my bridesmaid dress and I loved it! The wedding will be this December, so stay tuned for photos.

I said yes to my dress pretty quickly. Before beginning my search, I didn’t have a style in mind but I knew that whatever I ended up with, I would know it was the one the moment I put it on. I also did not want to confuse myself so I planned to have a short search which I did. I went to three bridal stores before ending up at La Raine’s Bridal Boutique. It was there I found the one. Funny enough, Phoebe was the one who told me about this store. I was with my mom and Juliet when I tried my dress on and they were in agreement too. I remember not wanting to get out of that dress after I put it on. Shopping for my dress was a lot of fun and watching someone else do the same brought as much joy to my heart.

My dress was a Venus Exclusive. I had never heard about this designer prior to finding my dress but they have a lovely collection. Check them out here.
