Unacceptable Service

Before going to bed this past Sunday night, I realized Mo's body felt pretty warm. I told hubby and he also confirmed. So we took her temperature and it was a little high. We gave her Tylenol and hoped she would be better in the morning.

On Monday morning, she was cranky and clingy and cried about everything. I checked her temperature and it had gone down a bit so I thought she was getting better. She took a nap and I got in the shower. When I got out and felt her body for her temperature, she was warm again. I got out the thermometer and this time, her temperature read 101. I looked up a location with Pediatricians where I could do a walk in, found one and we headed out. My experience at this clinic was absolutely horrible! From the wait time to the horrible customer service and all the details in between that set me off that I do not wish to recount.  They most definitely lost my business for sure and every other parent I will convince to never take their child to them. For the first time in my life, I considered leaving a not very nice online review because they were that bad!

Mo finally got to see a doctor after all the drama and when she walked in the room, I was further aggravated by the freaking booger at the tip of her nose! I was scared that it would drop on Mo. At this point, I was highly irritated. I just wanted her to tell me what was wrong with my child so I could get the heck out of there and never return. She checked Mo and the diagnosis was an ear infection. I got the prescription for her treatment and we went home.  I'm currently looking for and asking around for recommendations for a good pediatric location for my Mo boo.

Mo is doing really good now and she's back to her normal playful self. Thank God!

Picture Perfect

This time last year, I was totally in wedding mode. I was three weeks from walking down the aisle and I was getting last minute details sorted out. A lot was in place and RSVPs were coming in slowly but surely. It was a nerve racking but very exciting time in my life, and every passing day meant a day closer to being with the man of my dreams.

Now, as much as I couldn't wait to be with this man of my dreams, he got the best of me during the planning process. I wasn't surprised though because when we dated, I knew that if we ever did walk down the aisle, planning our wedding was going to be an event on its own... Lol. My hubby is a capital letter A personality type of person and to him, February 11th 2012 was going to be his day just as much as it would be mine, which I think is fair. Hubby was involved in just about EVERY detail of our wedding. We made a joint decision on all things major; from our wedding colors, to venue locations, to vendors. He made it to 85% of vendor meeting and when he wasn't present I would catch him up and vice versa. We argued about details and at a point, we both had to remind ourselves that it was just one day and we had to keep our focus on our marriage and not so much the wedding.

Having hubby that hands on, even though it was frustrating at times, I was extremely thankful. He took care of a lot of things that I didn't have to worry about and it made the whole process less stressful  for me. It meant so much to me that he cared so much. One of the things hubby took care of that I was very thankful for was our engagement pictures. The pictures were taken by our best man, Mr. Raymond Richards. Hubby set up a date and time, he picked every location we took the pictures and had an idea for what he wanted each scene to portray. This is very typical of him though, he gives a 110% to everything he does, and that's one of the reasons why I love him so! I basically showed up to the shoot looking pretty :)

We shot at three different locations. We started out very early in the morning and didn't round up until late in the evening. Yes, it was that serious! Lol. We had so much fun with the shoot, and hubby cracked me up the entire time trying to model. It was definitely one of our memorable moments.

Inauguration 2013

Yesterday, Monday January 21st was very a historic day in the United States of America. Americans celebrated the inauguration of her 44th president, Barack Obama. It was a historic moment because for the first time ever, the first black president ever took his oath for a second term in office. Adding to the significance of the moment is the fact that the celebration fell on the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, one of America's foremost civil rights leaders. I bet Dr. King was rejoicing in his grave!

I was glued to my TV screen just like I was four years ago, not wanting to miss any moment. I enjoyed it thoroughly; from the walk out of the church service early in the morning to the first dance at the inaugural ball!

A Rustic Chic Affair

This post is so long overdue, but here it goes.

On December 10th 2012, my long time friend turned sister said her I do's to the love of her life. It was a very beautiful occasion and I was very blessed to be a witness. I featured Phoebe's bridal shower here. The ceremony was very lovely, and the reception was a lot of fun. Phoebe and Sean looked really great! There was a lot of love in the air and it was so plain to see that they were too excited to begin their lives together as husband and wife.

The night before the wedding, we had the wedding rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. After dinner, Phoebe and Sean got up gave sweet speeches about their parents, family and wedding party and gave out gifts. The maid of honor and bridesmaids got lovely bath robes with our initials in this beautiful package. Mine was L.E.O :)

Wedding Day...

Our bouquets. Can you guess which belongs to the bride?!

Phoebe had this on while she was getting ready.

Bridesmaids and Maid of Honor getting ready in our robes!

Our gowns were hung on these lovely hangers.

The bridesmaid and maid of honor gowns. These gowns looked so lovely on! The three bridesmaids has the eggplant color and the maid of honor had the mustard color. Beautiful!

One thing I didn't realize was how hard it would be taking pictures when I was part of the bridal party! Silly me. Thankfully, I was able to get away during hair and make up to take some pictures during set up. The rustic chic theme came together very well and everything turned out beautiful!

This sign was at the entrance of the ceremony room. It was the first thing the guests saw.

The runner was made with burlap.

These were placed on the outskirts of the room and gave the room a very warm and intimate feel when lit.

The little groom came down the aisle with this sign. It was too cute!

Table seating. I've never seen this method used before. The names of guests and their table number was arranged into this beautiful frame. Guests picked out their name and went to their table.

Small Centerpieces.

They looked so lovely later in the evening when the candles were lit.

Elaborate centerpieces.

Close-up. These were really pretty!

Table for the Bride and Groom.

Cake and dessert table. Everything looked so yummy!

The cake topper went very well with the rustic theme.

Groom's cake. Sean is a Georgia Tech alumni.

I thought this was very unique. Great idea!

Favors: Honey. I love how it was set on this large tree stump.
