Demi is 18 Months Today!

I totally did not do a 15 months post on Demi and I feel horrible. This will be a combined post of his growth since he turned 1.

Wow, where do I start? He brings so much joy to my heart. Ahhh!

You are such a happy kiddo. You stay laughing even when I'm trying to scold you. Everything is a joke to Demi!

You do EVERYTHING your big sis does. You want EVERYTHING she wants. If I give you cookies and Mo says she wants chips, all of a sudden your cookies are not good enough. You want chips too!

You fight with big sis A LOT too! You do not back down for nothing! Most times you start the fight first. When she does start it and hits you, your come back hit comes with speed. You pull her braids which is both funny and not funny and about two months ago, you had her in a choke hold!!! I was so shocked! You two were fighting, she fell on the floor and you grabbed her neck! Now that you got a spanking for...

SO you fight with big sis but you two also play A LOT together. I love watching you two tickle each other and laugh hysterically or just sharing toys and being nice to each other.

You love playing with the IPad. That's actually one of the fight starters. We only have one so you two have to share. Sometimes you don't mind playing with my kindle or phone but you'd rather have the IPad. So what do you do with the IPad? You LOVE to listen to Nigerian music on YouTube! Your faves are Dorobucci by Mavin Records and Pullover by KCee. As soon as those start playing, you have a really big smile on your face.

You love "Dora the Explorer". In fact you could say her name before you called me mama! As soon as she comes on the TV screen, you point and shout "Dowa! Down!"

Which brings me to my next point... You said dada before you said mama! Matter of fact, you said mama very late. I think you just started calling me mama like last week but you've been saying dada for months. That made your dad so so happy. I believe the reason why you learned dada first is because when ever Daddy comes in the house, Mo runs to him and yells daddy. Clearly you run with her too, and you also started yelling dada(guess you didn't want to say daddy). I love love the fact that you call me mama instead of mummy. It's so enduring. Please don't stop! Lol

You love your sleep and you do not play with your naps. You take them daily still! Even during the weekends, you shut down between 12 and 3. You have come a long way with your sleep pattern. Right now you are  in your room the whole night. You wake up once to cry and in the past when I heard you, I would take milk to you. I got to a point where I said no more milk so when you would cry, I would take you out of your crib and bring you to our bedroom. After a while you forgot about milk and just cried to be picked up. I got tired of that real quick. So about two weeks ago, when you cry, I go in your room lay you back down and tell you not to cry or else I'll smack your butt. I give you an example smack(LOL) and I walk out and that's it until it's time to get up in the morning. I think I can officially say daddy and I have our bed back now besides when Mo sometimes runs in in the middle of the night.

You hate getting smacked. You run if you know it's coming. It's the funniest thing ever! That's why me telling you at night that I'll smack you if you keep crying works!

Some of the words you say: Bag, spoon, more, ball, book, dada, mama, baby, bye, hi, this, cheerios, rice, shoe... (there's probably some I'm forgetting)...

Food! Demi DON'T play with his food. You eat, and eat, and eat, and eat some more!!! You can now feed yourself! What a relief for me! I still have to supervise of course but I put the bowl in front of you with a spoon and you do it all by yourself. You do it so well that there's not much of a mess when you get done. Before you started feeding yourself, you used to crack me up when I'd feed you. So on days where I have different things in the pate like rice, plantains, and chicken, you point specifically to what you want in your mouth. You point and say this. So you can go rice, rice, plantain, rice, chicken, rice and so on. If I dare put in the spoon what you don't point to, you refuse to eat it. I have to put it back in the plate, scoop what you want but then you point to what I just put down after eating what you initially pointed to and then say this. What a child!

With all this eating and chewing, you still have 8 teeth in your mouth!!! I was so excited when you got your teeth at about 9 months old because Mo had 0 until she was almost 12 months. Lol. You've had 8 since your 1st birthday and they're still going strong.

You wear size 2T in clothes, 5 in diapers and I believe 7 in shoes.

You understand a lot now. You know to put stuff in the trash like your yogurt when you're done with it or if I tell you to go put something in the trash. You understand when I say things like go get your shoes, or if I point and say bring that to me.

Last but certainly not the least, you love to cuddle with mama and mama LOVES it too. You give me so many kisses that I would be a billionaire if I had a dollar for every one you've laid on my lips!!! Heck you kiss me so much, you might as well be my hubby!

Demi words can't express how much I love you. You are such a good and loving child and I bless God for your life. I thank Him for giving you to me and I pray He blesses daddy and I with every resource to mold you into the man He has called you to be! Happy 18 months!

Happy 32 months to Morayo!!! #4
