So last week on February 11th, I celebrated 3 years of married life to Mr. Odesanya. He woke me up the morning of our anniversary at 5 AM to wish me a happy anniversary. I also received a gift that made a girl smile REAL BIG. I'm talking all my thirty... (wait... how many teeth do I have?). Anyhoo! The gift came with a card but hubby was like I bet you don't even know what you just read... Lol. But I did!
At lunch time I sat in our kitchen/cafeteria room munching on my salad and talking to my sis on the phone. I looked up and stared out of the window and what did I see? Our car parked out front. I was like wait a minute... What's he doing here? I got up and went to get the front door and saw this huge ensemble with another card! I mean the arrangement was SO pretty and had to weigh a good 30lbs(no joke!). Might I add that it seriously embarrassed me at work. My flowers became the topic of conversation at the office for the rest of the day. Everyone stopped by my desk to look and some even took sniffs. Yep... sure did!
He picked me up after work and I knew he was up to more because the kids were not in the car. He left them with the nanny and we went to dinner. We had a really good time. The girl was happy, ya know what I'm saying?!
Three years of marriage has been really great. Most definitely there are ups and downs but I think hubby will agree with me when I say one thing that has helped us is being vulnerable. Throwing pride out the widow and admitting to a fault when it's on either of us. We are both always willing to say "I'm sorry" when we should. It may take a little while(not too long), but we say it. I guess we were both listening to the sermon on our wedding day when the pastor said... if we forget every thing that happens today, make sure not to forget these five words "I'm sorry, please forgive me"...
Three years later and heart, body and soul still say I DO! I love you Oluwatosin. Happy Anniversary!
