I can't believe we are already a couple of weeks into 2015! We have already had one heck of a couple of weeks with our health in my household, but thank God we are all getting better.
First of all let me just say we had a really spectacular holiday season. We were in Houston for thanksgiving which was a BLAST! I shared some photos from thanksgiving day on here. We also visited the zoo, aquarium and the children's museum while we were there. I was supposed to share those photos but never really got around to doing so. I will hopefully put them up before the end of the week.
We were in Atlanta for Christmas/New Year. As usual it was so good to be back home... Yes indeed Atlanta is and will always be home to me. I had such a good time catching up with friends on lunch dates. We also went on home dates too. We got to visit our pastor and his wife who counseled us before we got married. Let me tell ya, his wife makes some off the chain Suya(Google it- don't be hungry though) and of course she prepared some for us which I ate all by myself because hubby wasn't too hungry. Imagine the joy in my heart! Lol. We also visited our friends the Coker's. We have known them since our undergraduate days and have remained friends ever since. Vicky didn't disappoint at all. Well she loves the kitchen so I wasn't surprised but she really went all out for us. We had some really tasty creamy soup a little while after getting in along side some delicious samosas which was apparently the appetizer. Then we had pasta as the main course with a delicious sauce I had never had before. It was all so tasty. While we were chatting, she got a craving for suya and I was like shoo.. better satisfy that craving. Lol. Anyways, she went into the kitchen and in less than 20 minutes had prepared beef and chicken Suya!! It was SO good. So good that some Africans(hope they're reading this. Lol) in the house were actually hovering over the plate. We had some good conversations too. They were just really gracious hosts and I really appreciate the effort they put into entertaining us!
It was also just so great to be around family. We stayed at my parent's house but we also saw hubby's side of the family. I enjoyed hanging out with my sisters. I think that is the one thing I miss so much about being in Atlanta. We always find something to do to hang out with each other all the time! Thank God for phones and FaceTime! It sure makes it not so hard.
Well I look forward to what this year has in store! I hope to blog a lot more than I did last year and by God's Grace, I promise I will. So much has changed for me that will allow me to do so. Exciting times are coming up!
On Sunday at church, my pastor said something that struck a chord with me:
"Life does not give us what we deserve, it gives us what we demand for, and we make those demands in prayers" - Pastor Sam Adelusimo
Praying is so important. If you want/need it, you gotta ask for it! Not just for wants and needs alone. Pray without ceasing about every and anything you can think of. I really wanted to share that with you.
I am more than happy and blessed to see this New Year with my family and the best is yet to come!

I love this photo of Demi and I taken this past Sunday at church. Ms Abi caught him literally trying to eat my face. |
