This Feels Good

I've been called Grand-daughter, daughter, sister, wife, aunty, cousin, e.t.c but recently, something new got added to the list. It was two Saturdays ago, I decided to take the kids with me to the Walmart Saturday morning meeting. We have them once a month from about 7-9:00am and most people come in with their kids. We were at my desk and Demi was sleeping in his car-seat. I sat Mo on a table and brought out her crayons and coloring book I had packed to keep her occupied. I brought out some grapes and walked to a mini break room next to my sitting area, so I could wash them. While I was in the room, I heard a little voice yelling "ummy, ummy!!!". When she saw me, she stopped and started smiling. I was shocked and ecstatic all at the same time, and I said "yes baby!" and gave her a big hug.

See, my sisters have been getting on me about Mo not being able to say mummy or daddy yet and I also began to wonder why she hadn't either. I was not too worried though because I know she knew what mummy and daddy meant. Whenever I gave her something to go give Tosin,  I would say "go give daddy" and she knew exactly who to go to. Also, if we were all sitting in the living room and maybe she started fussing and I said "come to mummy", she would come right to me. She just refused to say the words! I mean there have been random times, maybe once or twice that she called me mummy, but it never lasted. I would get really excited and beg and encourage her to say it again but the kid refused!

On that faithful Saturday morning, she decided it was time! She has been calling me mummy ever since and it FEELS SO GOOD!!! I mean it feels really good to walk into the house after work to her running to me yelling ummy. Also when I'm in the kitchen and she wants me to carry her and she puts up her hand and says "ummy, ummy". Yes, Mo did away with the M, and I think it's so cute! It's really a fulfilling sound I tell ya!

Hubs is kinda jealous right now, but I told him his time will come. Ha!
