So Long!

Two weekends ago on a Saturday, hubby and I spent our last time in our first home as a married couple. It took the movers three days to pack up our things, and load the truck. Things had been moving pretty quickly but watching the house clear out forced me to stop and soak in the moment. The house holds too many precious memories that we will carry on in our hearts. From entertaining family and friends, to learning new and fascinating things about each other (lol), to welcoming our first child...

I just have to share this testimony. After we decided that we were going to make the move, we decided to rent out our home and not sell. Hubby has owned the property for some years but rented it out for the most part until we got married and moved back in. Thankfully finding a tenant has never been an issue for him but we needed to get someone in quick and also someone we would have some sense of comfort with. So we prayed about it and on a Wednesday evening hubby posted an ad on Craigslist. By Thursday morning, we had about 8 calls between ourselves and one lady who called me asked to come by during her lunch to view the house. When she arrived, I welcomed her in and showed her around. We talked enough to learn more about each other and before she left, she left behind documents showing proof that she could afford to rent the home. I mean she was serious and I had a really good feeling about her. I called hubby at work and told him about my meeting with her and he followed up with a call. On Friday at noon, hubby and I met up with her at a coffee shop to sign the leasing contract. She showed up with her adorable 2 year old daughter she told me about the previous day. Her daughter was born June 2nd! Mo was born on the 4th of June! I thought that was pretty cool! Speaking of her daughter, I thought we would have to take off the decals in Mo's nursery and repaint the walls but when she walked into the room during the tour on Thursday, she asked if it was okay to leave the room as is! God is good!

That Saturday, we did a final walk through and our new tenant met up with us at the house and got the keys. After she left, hubby led us in prayer and we spent time committing things into God's hands, but more importantly thanking Him for Everything He had done, was doing, and was yet to do.

Mo's nursery. The writing on the wall reads: "You shall be like a tree firmly planted by the streams of water, You will yield your fruit in season; Your leaves will not wither, and whatsoever you do will prosper. Psalm 1:3"

The Ciraky's (mentioned in "Non-Stop Fun" post) gifted us with these lovely t-shirts for our new residence! Mo didn't come with us that Saturday for the final walk through :(
