Church's Tuesday

I learned recently as a result of staying at hubby's parents home, that on Tuesdays, you can get 2 pieces of chicken for $1.29 at Church's Chicken! Now, I never eat there, so I don't even know the regular price. However, $1.29 for 2 pieces of chicken sounds good to me, and those that know me know that I don't play with chicken! Well... Chicken wings most especially. Last night while trying to figure out dinner with my sis, I brought up my latest discovery to her and offered to go buy some Church's chicken. I got 10 pieces and paid only $6.84! I got it spicy too! Oooh... It was so darn good! We ate it with corn and some tasty asparagus sis made.

Dinner was absolutely yummy!

Sharing A Special Day With My Nephew

Today will forever be special to me for two reasons.

Reason 1: My nephew Pauley was born three years ago today, so it's his birthday!!! It's amazing how fast time has gone by. I absolutely love the little man regardless of how naughty he gets and trust me, he can be NAUGHTY! But when he's sweet, my my, he melts my heart!

HAPPY 3rd BIRTHDAY PAULEY!!!

Reason 2: Hubby proposed to me on this day last year. I knew he was going to propose but I wasn't sure when. I actually thought he would propose on the 22nd, the day we met, but he didn't! So like him! I think I looked a hot mess that night. Lol! My sister tried to do everything to get me to change clothes that night before heading out but I refused. Hubby's proposal was absolutely lovely! And the best part... It was all recorded!!! So I can always go back and watch it over and over and over again! YAY! Lol.

Funny story about this picture... Last year for my 25th birthday which was like two weeks after the proposal, hubby's parents threw me a surprise birthday party at their home. I thought that was SO SO sweet of them! I really love those two and I'm blessed to have them as my parents too! Back to this party. They blew up this picture and stuck it to a mirror that sits above the mantelpiece in the living room. Would you believe the picture is still up?! Lol!!! I attempted to take the picture off recently and in the process, hubby's dad walked in. "Ha ah(Nigerian slang) why are you trying to take it off? Is it your picture?" I replied "It sure isn't daddy", smoothed the picture back to the mirror and went about my business. Lol. At the end of the day, I know it's all love :)

Happy New Week!

Shower of Blessings

Over the weekend, I went to my friend, Phoebe's lingerie bridal shower brunch with my sister, MoMo and our good friend Mary. Phoebe is the bride mentioned in the "Say Yes" post here. I had such a good time with all the women in attendance. We played some cool bridal shower games, ate good, and gave the bride-to-be marital advice which was my favorite part. There was so much said, and a lot of what was said was stuff I heard prior to getting married but it was really good to be reminded. I also threw in my little two cents... ha! And of course she left with a suitcase filled with lingerie! Oooh yeah! Lol. The shower was hosted by Phoebe's cousin, Mrs. Anderson,  who introduced her to her hubby to be, and lets just say Mrs. Anderson was THE hostess with the mostest. She so beautifully incorporated Phoebe's wedding theme(rustic chic) and colors(eggplant, mustard, and sage) into her details. The shower was simply beautiful.

The beautiful bride-to-be!

Hot Beverage Station...

I didn't try the apple cider in the pot, but everyone who did said it was really good!

Tea Assortment

Chocolate covered spoons

My choice! I love Hazelnut

Cute huh? PJS stand for Phoebe. James(her new last name). Sean(soon to be hubby's name)

This vase set-up was too cute. There were a couple...

Hors d'oeuvre's...

I'm not a cake person, but I tasted a little from my sister's and these were yummy!

These drinks were tasty. The one to the left was an orange juice mix, the one in the middle was a cranberry mix, and the one to the right had a minty taste.. kinda like a mojito.

Main course...

This salmon was SO good! Like seconds good! Hehe

Burlap (Rustic details)

I thought this setting was cute.

We wrote Phoebe notes with the little cards pictured and it was put into this album.

October 22nd

On this day eight years ago, hubby walked into my life at a house party during homecoming weekend at Georgia Southern University. I was a sophomore at the time and he had graduated with his MBA the previous year and was in town for homecoming. We dated off and on for seven years until his proposal last year. I am eternally thankful to God for blessing me with such an amazing man!

Over the years...
