A Head Full of Dreams

Hubby turned 35 on the 20th and I wanted to do something special to celebrate him since it was a milestone birthday, or at least I think it was. Right? Heck, getting to see your next age up should be a milestone every year. Lol. Random, but since hubby is 5 years older than I am, we will always have milestone birthdays in the same year. Fun!

So hubby is a very big fan of Coldplay and he had been talking forever about wanting to make it to one of their concerts since they were on tour. Being the very sweet and thoughtful wife that I am, I wanted to make it happen so I looked up their tour dates. I was delighted when I saw that they would be in Dallas on the 27th even though it was after his birthday. I planned I would drop the kids off with a friend of mine here and hubby and I would getaway for the weekend. I asked him about his availability and he said he was good to go, so I sent him a planner. Hubby needs a planner for EVERYTHING or else it doesn't exist. I need to get like that because I don't understand my memory these days but let's not get off topic. By the way it was going to be a surprise, so I just wanted him to confirm he would be free. I use surprise very lightly because I knew as soon as I asked him about that weekend he already figured what my plan. Lol! Somehow, an international trip for work started floating around for the weekend we were supposed to go and then he confirmed that the trip was definite. Personally, I was going to plan something else but the man I married had other plans.

Coldplay was going to be in Cali on the 20th, and his mind was made up. He booked our flight out of Kansas City and we flew out on the morning of the 19th. We got there right before noon since Cali is 2hrs ahead, got our rental car and the fun began! Our hotel was pretty awesome. We stayed right by Hollywood and Highland so there was a lot of sightseeing and people watching. Yasss! We had a blast if I must say and we ate really good! Every single restaurant was a winner! The concert was A LOT of fun! I could tell hubby was just really happy and it was a joy to watch his excitement. I've picked up a liking for Coldplay since being married to hubby, so I know a couple of their songs and didn't feel lost. If I'd be honest, it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to not that I've been to that many. Ha! The kids love them too. Their favorite song to listen to is "Adventure of a Lifetime" which they love to call "The Monkey Song" because of the video. Matter of fact that was a play request to dance to yesterday evening when they got home. Lol. Thumps up Hubs!

Beyond the concert and good eating, it was really great to spend some alone time with hubby. I believe this was our first time traveling alone without the kids since we got married. I enjoyed our conversations, the laughter and just having him all to myself uninterrupted! Heck, I felt like it was my birthday too and he surely was the best gift ever! Lol. We both acknowledged it was very refreshing and agreed we should do it more often.

We are so thankful to our wonderful friends the Cokers! We left the kids with them in Kansas City. I've talked about the Cokers on my blog a couple of times. As a matter of fact, I blogged about us spending New Years this year with them here. The kids were having so much fun, it was hard to get them to come to the phone whenever we Face-timed. I had peace of mind knowing they were in really good hands and that meant A LOT to Hubs and I.

Demi is 3!

Demi turned 3 on August 4th! I'm late putting up this blog because I was out of town for work for the most part of last week.

We didn't have a big party like we did for Morayo but we did our best to make it fun for him. His birthday fell on Thursday and I didn't have anything planned specifically for that day. It was a school night and my mum was getting in the next day and we were going to have a party in his class. Plus I had a dinner for work that came up which was already on my calendar, but I had somehow totally forgotten about it and clearly did not realize it fell on Demi's birthday when I agreed to it.

I got home from dinner right before 8PM and hubby had bathe the  kids, dressed them up and was waiting on me so we could take them to Chuck E Cheese. Let me remind you, it is 8PM! It is a school night!! Hubby said he just wanted to make sure we did something on his exact birth date. Really? I thought that was my play! That's something I'd say! Lol. This man is full of surprises and just compliments me so perfectly. We took them there even though I'm not a fan, but it was not about me. The kids love that place!

We stayed out about thirty five minutes and then headed home. I made goody bags for Demi's class for the next day after putting the kids to bed and I finished up on wrapping his gifts from the previous night.

On Friday I got out of work early(God Bless summer hours!). I went to get mummy from the airport, we went to pick up the cake, icecream and more candy for my goody bags and then headed home and chilled out for a while because the  party wasn't until 2:30PM at snack time.

Hubby met up with us at the school and we had a good time celebrating Demi...

The remainder of the day and weekend with mummy was fun! We took Demi to a fun indoor jump zone on Saturday and he had a blast! We had a situation where little man escaped from our sight for like 5mins. I almost lost it! It took me another 15mins for me to recover from it. Lol and Smh.

I can't believe 3 years has gone by as fast as it has. A lot of parents say that and it may sound cliche at times but my goodness it's so real. It seems just like yesterday I took him home with me. I may be biased because he is mine but Demi really is the sweetest, kindest, most caring, sympathetic, funny, strong willed, organized(blows my mind), adventurous, curious, energetic, lovable, (manipulative, strong, and relentless according to hubby), and of course most handsome little boy EVER!!! And Lord yes I thank you that he is all mine to nurture!!

BY THE WAY, June 24th 2016 was the beginning of the last night he ever went to bed with Pull-Ups. Yes I have the exact date! Lol. We are totally Pull-Up free in our home. I am proud to say he has had only one accident since then. It was in the morning, and I forgot to put him on the potty after getting him up. He went about playing then ran to me as I got ready in the bathroom. Unfortunately, he was really pressed and I couldn't get his shorts down quick enough. I'm so proud of my baby boy!

Morning of August 4th

Some of his gifts and goody bags for class. In goody bag: (Mott's Apple Sauce, Dum Dum lollipops. Kit Kat Bar, Crunch Bar, and Starburst!)
Demi is still crazy about Thomas the train(hence the cake) but our baby boy has found a new love in Paw Patrol and PJ Masks!Snaps from class!
New PJ's from Grandma among many other gifts from Grandpa and Aunty Juliet!

The kids really loved having grandma around. The one thing I dislike the most about living in NWA is them not enjoying growing up with both my parents and hubby's.

With mummy after church on Sunday! So glad that she came to spend some time with us!

Happy 3rd Birthday DEMI!!
