Last week we got back from vacationing in Tampa and Orlando Florida! We had a great time but let me tell ya, it didn't start out too well.
On Thursday morning on the 10th, I got up early and got myself and the kids ready. The kids were cooperating and excited about travelling and the house was spotless just how I love it! Hubs was already in Florida because he had a conference there earlier in that week and we were meeting up with him. Every thing was going great! We were good to go and on time!
We got to the airport and things went down hill pretty quickly!! In the process of getting the kids out of the car, I locked myself out of the car! The kids and one car-seat were already out however our luggage and the other car-seat were still in the car and we were a little over an hour away from take off and we HAD to get on that flight. I FREAKED OUT! BAD!! Long story short, a wonderful friend of hubby's Femi, came to the airport and smashed out the window so I could get the rest of the stuff out and he also helped drive the car back to our home. We are so thankful for him! Now! I was 35 minutes away from take-off. I jumped in the shuttle and we headed to the terminal. I thanked the shuttle guy big time because he did a lot of back and forth to and from the parking lot to the terminal prior to Femi's arrival. For once in my life I was thankful to God I had cash on me!
I ran to the check-in counter and they were closed already, so I had to go through TSA with two kids, luggage, and two car-seats that weigh like 50lbs each! Thankfully a good Samaritan helped me out some but no lie as upset as I was, I considered trashing those car-seats! Through all this, I got tried by a TSA agent! She threw away some liquids I had in the luggage that WAS SUPPOSED to be checked in which I understand but in her giving me her spill on why it had to be thrown out, hello! I was still in a hurry and had no time to hear it so I said "sure whatever!" and this lady had the audacity to tell me next time I need to get to the airport ahead of time and not two minutes before I'm supposed to leave. Chile when I tell you I PAUSED, I mean I literally stopped and stared at her. I started to react but I stopped myself because that was just the best decision in that moment.
Thankfully we got on the flight literally 5 minutes before takeoff!! Some other "you've got to be kidding me" stuff transpired but we finally were reunited with hubby. I was an emotional wreck! Thank God for hubs! After setting up the kids car-seats and putting the kids in, he came around to my seat and gave me a speech about how he understands I've had a rough morning but to look on the bright side because we made the flight and we were there with him and I should just put it all behind me because the car can always be fixed, so let us not ruin what can be a great family vacation. Keep in mind this is someone I kept yelling at in his attempt to figure out a solution earlier. My sisters Collette and Juliet also got some of my craziness too. Lol! Yes! I cried but I was so THANKFUL for that moment!
Through that entire process, I kept asking God why and also what He was trying to teach me. Honestly, I think I found out what which is a story for another day. If I had kept a level mind and acted like someone in her right senses, I believe the issue would have been solved without the window getting smashed. Thinking back, I had enough time. I believe I did...
We got to Tampa pretty late, so we just cleaned up a bit and went to check out a mall close to our hotel and also had dinner. The next day we headed out to the beach!
Some photos at the mall...
