Oh Valentine!

The kids had a Valentine's party in school on Friday last week and on Wednesday night before the party, I stayed up a little late and made some goodies for their love bags. I decided to do it on Wednesday night because I had other plans on Thursday night for our wedding anniversary (4 years!! Whoop Whoop!!). I browsed online to find some fun things I could do. I wanted to go beyond the usual, and I think I accomplished just that! Regardless of how tired I was and how late it was Wednesday night, I made sure I completed what I started. Lol. I was sure glad I did...

Even though I haven't in a while, I enjoy doing this type of stuff, so it felt good and was kinda therapeutic.

None of this was my personal idea okay! Lol. Thank you Google images!

I did the Gold Fish for Demi's class and the Apple Sauce for Morayo's class. At the beginning of the school semester when Morayo started at this school, we got a letter from her teacher telling us about herself. She noted her favorite drink was Dr. Pepper and her favorite candy was Kit Kat bars, so I gave her a bottle of Dr. Pepper and a goodie bag filled with Kit Kat bars and I gave the other teachers a bag of chips and Mountain Dew.

Gold Fish tag: Will you O"fish"cally be my Valentine? Love Demi
Apple Sauce tag" Valentine, I think you are Awesome Sauce! On the back: Love Morayo
Dr Pepper tag: Soda you want to be my Valentine?
Bag of Chips and Mountain Dew tag: You are all that and a bag of Chips. Thanks for all you Dew!

We got these gifts from Mo and Demi when we went to their individual classes. I absolutely LOVE! and plan to keep them forever. I look forward to many more of these!

Navigating

Hubby and I celebrate four years of marriage this week! Yay!

I would expect that at this point, I would have some kind of routine down packed but unfortunately that is far from the case. One of my biggest recent struggles seems to be my time management. There is so much that I want to get done and it seems like there isn’t enough time in one day to do all of it. I’m daily trying to figure out how I maximize my morning, lunch break at work, and my evenings when I get home from work.

How so?... I decided recently that besides a quick morning prayer when I get up, I would actually like to spend a good 30 minutes of my time in the morning with God. With that comes my struggle of getting the kids and myself ready in good time to get out of the house. Hubby leaves for work very early, sometimes even before the kids get up. However, when he can, he helps either with getting Demi ready or giving them breakfast. Notice he can only get Demi ready. Dude had dressed Morayo up a couple of times and left me in awe.

During my Lunch break at work, more times than none I usually have some errand I want to run. Besides my errands though, I constantly think about the best usage of that time. Then there is the major brain racking evenings! I have to spend time with the kids (we go over school stuff too), I have to cook on some nights, and I still want to spend time with God (study my Bible/meditate: This takes time!). Then there is exercising – I started working out at home recently using DVDs. Each workout session is a whooping forty minutes!! That’s major time. That’s literally one hour gone by the time I get done taking a shower and recoup. Then there is this blog! See why I go lots of days without a post? And no I don’t want to stop blogging. I spent sometime over the weekend going over old posts. There were some things/events I had totally forgotten happened and it felt really good to read them and remember every detail. The kids are getting older so guess what that comes with? Yep! Activities! Morayo and Demi are currently in swimming, and I would like to get Demi on a little league soccer team once the next session starts, not to mention Morayo has been BEGGING me to put her in ballet. I’m not a big TV person but currently there is only one show I watch. That’s another hour gone. I NEED me time for several different things, kind of similar and not so similar to my time with God so they need to be kept separate. Oh! Before I forget, it doesn’t happen often THANK GOD! But there are some nights work comes back home. Then there are several random things that come up here and there.  Last and definitely not the least, I am Mrs. O. I gats to make time for the boo too J

See.. these are things I can’t even necessarily compromise on even though some are currently suffering. Please don’t even start with my weekend…

My Dilemma.

Save The Memory...

Sometime in the fall last year, we took the kids to have professional pictures of them taken in their traditional Nigerian attire. This was all hubby's idea! He kept bringing it up and saying he wanted memories of them in the outfits before they out grew them. I stalled until he eventually scheduled a session himself! Lol. I'm really glad he did though. See the beautiful ways we compliment each other?!

Hubby's mom made the outfits a while back. We used the brown one shown in the photos below for Demi's first birthday and we used the blue one for his dedication to God. We needed up using a few of the pictures for our Christmas card last year and it turned out great!

Btw the way, the blog has a new look! Thought I'd change things up a bit. Loving it so far!
