New Arrival!

On June 11th, I became an aunty again for the second time. My older sister gave birth to a precious baby boy. If you follow my blog, I've had a couple of posts about my nephew Paul. Well, Pauly is a big brother now and I think he's handling his new role well from what I hear. The whole family is really excited and I know I personally can't wait to get my hands on him!

Introducing Osasuyi(God is worthy of all the Glory) Michael Akhimiona!

Hubby's 2nd Father's Day!

For Father's Day, we had brunch after church at one of the hotels here in Bentonville. It's actually a hotel/museum, it's a really cool place and we had a fun time bonding!

They had a special selection going on for Father's Day, so we did the whole deal!

For our Appetizers...

For me: Yogurt with granola and blackberries, topped with honey. MoMo loved it.

For hubby: Strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries, on top blended pineapples and sprinkled with shortbread.

For our Entrees....

For me: Catfish!

For hubby: Omelet (He was hating on my fish..Lol)

 And Dessert...

For me: Cinnamon buns. These were so good and it was served hot! Yummy yummy!

For hubby: Pecan Pie and ice cream!

We really had a great time relaxing afterwards at home. For hubby's first father's day, we really didn't do much because we had a brand new MoMo! I really wanted this one to be special for him. He really is a great dad and husband and does all that's in his power to protect and provide for his home. I tell him often, but if he hasn't heard it enough, "I LOVE AND APPRECIATE YOU BABE!!"

Getting a kiss from MoMo at brunch!

Hope all the Father's out there had a special day!

Reserved For The Lord!

This past Sunday, we finally had Morayo's dedication celebration. We had been postponing it for a while because of various reasons, mostly involving wanting to involve family. However, after moving out here, we are even further away and these days, besides holidays, I think it's just going to be hard getting everyone together. So we went ahead and did it and it was pretty awesome!

We are so thankful to our Pastor and new friends for surrounding us with so much love! God placed us amongst a great group of people!

"And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord"

Partay At Daycare!

Mo's daycare also threw a birthday party for her on Tuesday the 4th, which was her birthday. They had decorations in the room and the kids had cupcakes and milk. She got a big sticker on her report for the day and some extras to take home!

Her caregiver sent me these pictures!

So in love...

Mo's First Birthday!

Hubby, Mo, and I were in Atlanta for a couple of days. We got in town the Friday before Memorial day and left this past Sunday. I planned to have her first birthday party while we were in town since we knew quite a few 1 year old babies there and of course family! It was a very small event, which is what I wanted. I'm not a big fan of going all out for a 1year old, because 100% of the time, they have no clue what's going on. Lol! I think it's just important to create that memory for them to look back on.

We had the party at a play place called "Gymboree Play & Music". We had a pretty energetic coordinator lead the children in music and fun activities for about 45 minutes. After that, we spent about 30 minutes celebrating with cake and food and we were done!

I was very pleased with how it went and I know Moboo if anything, had a great time eating her cake!

Cheers to our sweet girl!

Morayo Is ONE!!!

MY MOMOBOOSKI IS ONE!!! I'm not sure how to express my joy but I am more than thankful to God for granting her the Grace to see a whole year in good health! Moboo you've grown sooo much and have changed a whole lot! Here's what you've been up to! Hope I can remember all!

You are blabbing a whole lot more! You carry on conversations with yourself and whoever else is willing to listen.

You now hold the phone up to your ears and act like you're having a conversation! You did this for the first time about three weeks ago and I was so shocked. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to shout for joy, laugh, idk... It really threw me off! Lol

You still love to FaceTime and whenever I get on the phone, you come to grab it to see if you can see the person on the other end.

You are still very shy and I think it has gotten worse. When you meet people and we are carrying you, you try to hide your face in our arms or turn your face the other way so they can't see you.

You learned how to put the garage door up and down and whenever ever we leave the house to go out or get back home, you start pointing your finger towards the sensor.

You've perfected two words. "Hi" and "Bye"

You LOVE LOVE LOVE to blow kisses, and you do it ALL the time!!! You put your hands to your mouth and as you say "mmm..ba" not "mmwuah"you stretch your hand out. You learned recently to kiss on the lips, so whenever we're carrying you, we get unexpected kisses on the lips! It's too cute! Melts my heart.

You now stretch out your hands for me to carry you whenever someone else is holding you and you're ready to come to me. But you do it in such a funny way. Your hands are stretched out, but you bend your wrist as if you're showing me a fresh set of manicured nails. It's pretty hilarious.

You stopped taking formula right after you turned 11months! I gave it to you in your bottle one morning on the way to daycare and you refused it. When I picked you up in the evening, they told me you refused it twice. You've been on regular milk ever since. You eat Gerber foods and just about everything we eat. Breast milk for 6months, formula for 5months!! I can totally dig that! I know your dad is happy about that one too. Formula ain't cheap!

Speaking of food, you LOVE your food and you DO NOT play games when it comes to eating. I think you are most cranky when you're hungry. Like father, like daughter.

You still love bath time and it's more fun now that you can actually play with your bath toys.

You still love your pacifier but your Aunt said we have to try to get you off it because....

YOU HAVE TEETH NOW!!! Lol! They came in at exactly 11months. You started with 2 on the bottom and now you have 2 on top for a total of 4! It makes you look even more cuter! You also have a gap and I kinda like it! I can't get enough of your smiles.

I think learning how to dress yourself is going to be easy for you. I recently caught you trying to put on your socks!!! You also know when to give me your hands when I'm wearing your shirts or onesies for you.

Your favorite show is still "Yo Gabba Gabba". You can't get enough of it! I think you also kinda like Blues Clues, Fresh Beat Band, and Dora the Explorer. When you see the remote, you pick it up and point it towards the TV and start pressing the buttons, but you have this confused look as if you're thinking, "why doesn't it work when I do it?". Pretty funny!

You love climbing on top stuff.

You're now wearing 12months clothes but you still fit in some of your 9months clothes.

You're now wearing size 4 diapers.

You do not wake up at night anymore!!! No more feeding at night! Thank you Lord! I sleep through the night now! You've been doing this for a little over a month! You go to bed latest at 9:00pm and you're up at about 6:30am.

You no longer sleep in one position. You're all over the place! One would think you did some serious work during the day. Lol!

You pick up books and turn the pages like you're actually reading. Ha!

You love laptops. You put both hands on it and bang on the keys as if you're typing. I think you picked that up from your dad.

I'm still braiding your hair and it's now pretty long.

You still love cuddling. These days, before bed you hold on to my belly or lay your head on top of it to fall asleep. You love rubbing my belly. It more than melts my heart!

You've been feeding yourself for a while now. I put your snack on your highchair tray and you go at it. When you go to daycare in the morning, I put your milk in a bottle and hand it to you and by the time we get to daycare, you've finished it and put the bottle to the side. Sometimes, you really don't like when we feed you, so if we put the food in your mouth, you take it out and then put it back in yourself. It can get pretty messy though but hey! Joys of growing up. My big girl!

You're still sleeping in bed with us. We would love for you to be in your room but it's so far way from ours that we can't imagine leaving you on one side of the house all to yourself. However, your daddy and I are considering bringing your crib into our room. We would love our space back, but we want to keep a close watch on you.

You know your way around the house now and when you don't see me, you come looking for me and you always seem to know exactly where I am :)

You stand on your own now without holding on to anything!

You are VERY attached to me and these days, even daddy won't do the trick. You just want your mama!!!

Last but not the least! I know I badly wanted you to walk before you turned one and I can say with joy that even though you've not perfected it, you've been taking 3-5 steps and then falling back on the floor!!! You're really determined though because you get back up again and go for it!!! I AM MORE THAN PROUD!!!

I'm sure there's more I may be leaving out, but this will do!

You continue to be a JOY to us and we can't wait to see all that God has in store for you! WE LOVE YOU!!
