School Pictures

We got back the end of school year pictures a few weeks ago. It is always so exciting to go through them and even more amazing to see how the kids changed from the previous year. My faves are always the sibling pictures. A new school year is upon us and believe it or not, our Momo will be off to Kindergarten and Demi to PreK!! We don't get to enjoy these anymore in grade school but I'm sure there's so much more to look forward to.

I wonder how the kids will adjust to not getting dropped off together anymore, or getting to see each other during the day either in the hall or on the playground. Morayo is really excited about Kindergarten, so I doubt she cares too much, but it might hit Demi hard :( On a brighter note, we only have to deal with it for a year. Thank God!

Fun in Chi -Town!

It doesn't seem like too long ago when I put up my last post for 2016 but believe it or not, we are in the second half of 2017 already and this is my first post this year! What a shame...

I've been asked by hubby, several family members, and friends about my disappearing acts blog. Ha! Usually my goal every year is to get better and have more posts than the previous year, but it seems to hardly work out that way. It is really difficult to keep up with it y'all. Well, we took our first family vacation for this year to Chicago, IL for 4th of July and stayed with hubby's cousin, Boye and his wonderful family. While out there, Boye asked about my blog and mentioned he followed it. I was surprised by that because I had no clue. He encouraged me to maybe start back by blogging about the trip and I was determined to give it a shot. I planned to have a post up on Monday of this week... According to the calendar, I clearly missed by a couple days. But! Better late than never.

Funny thing is when I'm not blogging, I don't ever go on my blog. So, I've pretty much abandoned it for the last 6 months. When I logged on to type up this post, I literally spent about an hour reading through old posts. I gotta tell you, it really made my heart smile and reminded me about the importance of keeping it going. I can picture this platform as something Mo and Demi can read when they're older and hopefully be appreciative of the things I documented about them and our family. Speaking of documenting and my MoMo and Demi, they've grown so much and they are so hilarious. I believe they're at that age now where they truly say the darndest things. Hubby and I keep talking about our experiences with them and laughing about it.

There are some highlights from this year and I will try to blog about them. One of the biggest for me, was my MoMo turning 5!!! I started this blog a month after she was born and she was a good part of my content. It's amazing how much she has grown, so yeah, I'll definitely like to share that!

Back to Chicago...

It was a lot of fun! Boye and his family were really great hosts. We got to hang out with their friends a few times and they were all so sweet! I really love and admire their community. I also got to spend some time with my younger brother and his girlfriend which is always a good time. He terrorized Demi like he does our other nephews but I think my Demi held it down. Lol! All in all it was a fun trip and we're so thankful to Boye and his family for their hospitality and we are looking forward to hosting them too! Soon hopefully...

We drove to Chicago, so we decided to break up the trip by making a stop in St. Loius which turned out to be a great idea. We got a chance to catch up with the Boyds, some good friends we've known since our college days. I really appreciate them for spending time with us even at very short notice. Sade could not make it but Jonathan and their boys met up with us downtown where we were staying. We caught up over dinner and some sightseeing.

Check out some photos...

Good times in Chicago below...

Looking forward to our next vacation!
